As part of the Hardware department at Tonal, the Firmware team helps build our intelligent fitness system from the ground up. The Firmware team develops and tests across several embedded domains from wireless sensors to high powered motor control. This affords a challenging and rewarding experience in terms of driving reliability higher across various generations of custom parts. The Tonal firmware team is looking for a passionate and motivated Q/A Engineer to help us take our testing to the next level.
What You Will Do
-Work with FW developers to highlight areas that need testing
-Validate new, critical hardware components
-Create test plans for smoke tests and regression testsIdentify areas to improve quality and testing process
-Reproduce in-the-field issues while gathering more information
-Collaborate with Tonal SW team Q/A to hand off FW for system testing
-Maintain a high bar for product quality, safety and user experience
-Work with Tonal Customer Care team to troubleshoot customer issues
-Help the embedded team establish best testing practices

Who You Are
-3+ years firmware testing experience
-You like to break things and find the unusual corner cases
-You're capable of multitasking and managing multiple responsibilities
-You're familiar with test running software such as pytest or cpputest
-You are a curious and a creative problem solver who is not afraid to push the boundaries, ask questions, and break things
-You have experience validating: sensors, motors, and actuators, safety systems and communication protocols, bluetooth classic, BLE, and Wi-Fi, serial communication protocols like USB, SPI, I2C, UART
-Experience operating debugging tools, such as: JTAG/SWD debuggers, oscilloscopes, power supplies, safety systems and communication protocols, bluetooth classic, BLE, and Wi-Fi
-High attention to detail and meticulous engineering processes
-Great oral and written communication skills
-Team player with high integrity and high degree of self awareness
-Open to feedback and constantly striving to improve
