As a People Operations Manager, you’ll have the ability to own areas of the employee journey from hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, payroll, and off-boarding. You’ll partner across all levels of the organization to support in creating a positive employee experience and help further develop our remote work culture. By joining Lumi you’ll get to work with a scaling company creating change in a very old school industry. We keep our teams lean, allowing everyone to have influence over processes and strategy.

What you'll do

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions about HR topics such as benefits, payroll, company policies
  • Lead benefits administration by ensuring employees are enrolled in benefits and 
  • Own the virtual onboarding process for all new hires including initial software and equipment
  • Manage job postings and use of Lumi’s brand and voice in all employment branding efforts
  • Own and maintain Lever for applicant tracking software
  • Track and maintain all salary changes into Namely and partner with our Accounting team to process and verify semi-monthly payroll cycles
  • Maintain company compliance with federal and applicable state labor laws (we’re a remote company with employees across the US)
  • Support with recruiting and talent acquisition such as posting jobs, sourcing candidates, reviewing applicants, scheduling, and conducting reference checks
  • Responsible for year end reporting such as ACA, EEOC (when applicable); and administering employee W2s
  • Track and measure HR data and implement new methods for gathering applicable HR metrics
  • Update employee handbook to reflect a remote first culture, including updates to policies that reflect appropriate state compliance

About You

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources related field or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of professional experience in HR role
  • Extremely hands-on and comfortable working in the fast-paced, startup environment
  • Passion for people, culture, process improvement, and providing best in class experiences
  • Outstanding customer service and problem solving skills with ability to escalate problems when necessary
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task within a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide range of personalities
