The Role:
We are looking for a data aficionado who can help extract value out of our large and disparate data sets while driving automation that supports efficient business performance and scaling. This role will blend a business understanding with a data / systems understanding to support upfront data structuring and ongoing data quality controls. Additionally, this role will utilize software tools to convert this data into actionable forecasts / reports that will drive enhanced business performance and decision making. Responsibilities:
- Business Intelligence & Reporting – increase real-time data visibility for the business via creation and curation of data platforms and tools including dashboards, reports, variance and trend analysis, and self-service data models
- Statistical Forecasting – employ and inform software-based forecast models to support maintenance of baseline statistical operational and financial forecasts
- Cohorting Analyses & Utilization Forecasting – create cohorting analyses to drive enhanced understanding of utilization drivers and construct models for forecasting new customer utilization
- Data Capture & Structuring – employ business and systems understanding to partner with internal Engineering / Product teams on required data capture, definitions, and hierarchies to ensure cross-functional / cross-system business requirements are met
- Data Quality & Governance – design data pipelines from approved systems of record and create processes to ensure data quality is validated, tracked, managed, and cleansed across key data sources
- Software Implementation & Optimization – support implementation of new software tools by partnering across teams to ensure consistent data quality and structure / mappings across systems. Also, drive continuous improvements via identifying optimization opportunities to make data access / extraction / analysis more efficient
- Ad Hoc Support – support ad hoc operational and financial requests via retrieving, analyzing, and effectively summarizing pertinent data into actionable insights
- 5+ years of experience delivering BI analytics and data solutions
- Proficient with SQL and visualization tools such as Looker
- Proactive and passionate about results and data integrity
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience working with enterprise systems and understanding of data design pattern differences between transactional ERP systems and analytical data warehouses
- Experience building dashboards and reports with data visualization and BI tools that display complex quantitative data in a simple, intuitive format
- Experience partnering with internal engineering teams in development and testing of systems solutions and facilitating broad collaboration with clear communication and documentation
- Works well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment managing competing priorities with ambiguous data points
- Ability to work independently with limited oversight on a day-to-day basis
- Structured critical thinker who can employ problem solving skills to unstructured / uncertain problems
- B.S. or M.S. degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computing, Business, or Operations
